Not one, not two BUT THREE new members.

Tim Ferguson has ridden bikes forever, raced BMX’s at twelve, raced in Surrey League for about 5 years, done a few sportives, Etape du Dales, Ride of the Falling Leaves and a bunch of local ones.  Stopped riding due to injury, marriage and children.  Started swimming in 2010, with the intention of completing a few 1500m events.  Started running last year after an 11 year recovery period after Tough Guy 2000. This years plan is to compete in a few sprint triathlons a few swim events, several parkruns and a couple of sportives.  Then the following year some full length triathlons and after that retirement.

Alex Bessett has done several sprint triathlons and has already planned out his 2012 season with his main goal of smashing up the London Triathlon.  A long suffering friend of our original founder member Pete Kelsey, he can smell his opportunity to get one over his mate while Pete develops his Long John Silver impression on crutches due to injury.  Alex is keen on improving his swimming, biking and running abilities alongside the growing numbers of Viceroys members.

Claire Beisty finally, Claire has dipped in and out of triathlon over the last couple of seasons but have so far only entered swimming races, endurance life events.  Her biggest achievement being a 3 miler swimming event down the Thames. This years challenge is to do the Wild Swim Series 5 mile event and maybe have a go at a tri or two.  Looking forward to finding some training buddies in the area to get me back out on my bike.

Latest new member….

Lisa comes from a water skiing dynasty and has done mainly triathlons and road races in the past.  Her highlight would be doing the Grim challenge on her birthday.  She is looking forward to 2012 as Lisa has set herself a number of goals which she would like to achieve. Welcome Mrs Chairman.

Bully joins the team

Our latest member is Mark Howell, aka Bully.  Bully has been doing triathlons for a number of years and has like many of the VTC represented GBR at both World and European Championships with his highlight be 2009 Gold Coast when he became the unofficial World crazy golf champion, less said about the chairman’s performance the better.  Bully is a strong cyclist he always gives 100% when racing.  Coming back from injury Bully has a half marathon in February before preparing for the 2012 season.

Christmas Joiners

Viceroys TC would like to give a Christmas welcome to our latest members, Sophie Allistone and Matt Williams.  Sophie has been racing for a couple of seasons now and is keen to improve.  She has decided to take on the famous Ballbuster and teach it a lesson. With the rest of the Viceroys TC behind you, we’ll sure your will slay that beast.  Matt is an experienced athlete who’d rather race than train (wouldn’t we all) and has completed an impressive three WimbleBalls and is looking forward to Ironman Zurich.  How you look forward to an Ironman I don’t know. Driven on by his two kids who like all of us, can’t figure out why we swim in dirty looking lakes.

Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas to everyone, hope you have a great festive break, but don’t overdo the eating and drinking too much, you’ll only have to burn it off again in January!

;-)

May you get all of the tri toys and gadgets you wished for and have a great 2012.

~ Dave

Double Bubble!

Maxifuel and Maxinutrition are officially sponsoring the club for the 2012 season.  Members will receive 40% off all their product range.  Furthermore,  Blueseventy wetsuits will also be supporting VTC during 2012.  They are simply the best wetsuits money can buy.  Mark Yeoman is the person to speak to about Blueseventy as he has been sponsored by them for the past four seasons and has been fitting people into them for the past three at either Sigma Sport or the famous TCR.  Contact him for further details on how to swim faster in Blueseventy.

Once Mark Yeoman, our Chairman, has your full order details on these deals, they will be placed onto the members only forum section so you can fill your boots.  Throw into this Zoggs and Compressport deals, and I don’t think there are many clubs in the land that can say they have such great sponsors.
