Training

As part of the club’s membership, the club looks to offer as many opportunities for its members to come together to train with like-minded people.

Our weekly training schedule varies according to the time of year. The Summer programme runs from April – August, while the Winter programme runs from September – March.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

NB: Coached Bike Skill Rides: designed to help improve novice cyclists knowledge of basic road safety, etiquette, riding in a group, gear management as well as developing individuals endurance levels whilst learning new routes which the club uses throughout the year. Riders are encouraged to respect the designated ride pace and not to high jack the ride as this will affect the pace of the ride for those who it is designed for.

NB: During the summer months: The open water swimming is at Shepperton Lake and utilises the club’s BTF Level 3 Coach.

All sessions lasts 30mins and focuses on swim technique, open water skills and confidence; as well as improved endurance and pure speed – all sessions are free for all full VTC members. Full members are entitled to choose one session.

The Friday track session at Xcel Leisure Centre Sports Hub track (Waterside Drive, Walton on Thames, KT12 2JQ) is free for all full VTC members. See VTC Triathlon for further details.

A valid full VTC membership card allows members to swim for free at Shepperton Lake every Saturday or ride the Chertsey TT on a Thursday for free.

Club Championship: The Club Championships are designed to bring the club together and race the same event. Whether as an individual or as part of a team due to injury, we hope everyone has a great time.
