Throughout the course of the season, Viceroys TC will be holding five stand alone Club championship races open to all members to establish the Club’s male and female champions over each distance.
They are as follows:
- 5km run: Bushy Park on Saturday 2nd June
- 10m Time Trial: Chertsey course on Thursday 2nd July.
- Aquathon: OWS Aquathon (750m swim & 5km run) on Saturday 21st July.
- *Sprint Championships: Thorpe Sprint Race 4 held on Sunday 30th September.
- *Olympic distance Championships: Bridge Olympic held on Sunday 24th June.
Important Information.
The Bushy Park run is FREE, but please remember to bring your bar code for the official timing. The Chertsey TT costs £2 and starts at 7pm. Enter online for the OWS Aquathon or on the day. *For both the Sprint and Olympic distance championships, members are responsible for entering the races.
However, in order to provide all members with a clear and fair chance, each race will also have a timing handicap system allowing all members to compete on a more even footing. Further more there will be an overall series winner to make taking part in the events more interesting. Each member will receive points for taking part in each race according to the handicap timings results. So first will receive one point, second will receive two points and so on. The member who has the LOWEST combined score from any three events will be crowned the overall series winner.
*all handicap timings will be done by the VTC chairman and his magic calculator and based on a series of results to gain the times. Any bandits will pay the price of wearing the 1980′s retro suit of same at the next club event.
To cover purchasing of trophies, engraving and prizes for each of the Club Championship events, members are requested to contribute £10 entry for the entire series.
